Join us at the UVA Center for Politics for an engaging afternoon of history, ideas, and conversation with Dr. Garson, former Provost of the University of Virginia.Across five millennia, human beings have argued about power, belief, science, morality, society, and the ideas that shape the way we understand the world. In Five Thousand Years of Controversies, Dr. Arthur (Tim) Garson, Jr. takes readers on a wide-ranging journey through some of history’s most consequential debates—examining not only what people disagreed about, but why those disagreements mattered and how they continue to influence us today.
