Editorial standards
Guide2 is published by Blue Ridge Consulting Group. Guides are drafted from our own place records and from facts read at the venue’s own site, then checked against those sources before publication.
Selection
No national or regional chains. Every place has to match what the guide is about — a coffee shop does not appear in a taco guide. Nothing permanently closed. Nothing outside the city, checked by distance from the city centre rather than by address, so a real suburb stays and a same-named town elsewhere goes. One entry per business.
What a guide may assert
Only what it can source: our own records, or what the venue publishes about itself, read at the time of writing. If a detail cannot be sourced the guide writes around it. A guide that states a wrong price is worse than one that omits prices.
The checks
Before a guide can publish, every price, street address and review count in it is compared against the material it was written from, and anything that appears nowhere in those sources fails. So does a chain, a duplicate, a closed business, and a place the guide was not given. Guides that promise more entries than they deliver are held back.
Dates
A guide shows “listings verified” with a date only when its listings were actually re-checked. Guides still carrying their original text say so instead.
Corrections
Places close and hours change. If something here is wrong, the fastest fix is to tell us which guide and which entry.
