The Great Rotumpkin of 2026: Dancing skeletons, spooky pumpkins, bubbling cauldrons and a haunted house will all make appearances on the exterior of UVA’s Rotunda in celebration of Halloween this year!! Each Halloween, UVA’s most recognizable landmark takes on an entirely different personality. The Great Rotumpkin uses projection mapping, animation, and music to turn the Rotunda into a larger-than-life canvas for a playful parade of ghosts, skeletons, pumpkins, and other things that go bump in the night. Created by local multimedia artist Jeff Dobrow, the annual spectacle has quickly become a beloved UVA tradition, inviting students, families, and the Charlottesville community to gather before the Rotunda and see a familiar piece of Grounds in a delightfully spooky new light.
