Join Bonner Odell, founder of the Writer's Well, for a creative writing workshop at the library!Writing as Listening: A Creative Writing Workshop in Attention and DiscoveryWe're all familiar with the image of the tortured writer, struggling to capture the essence of an idea or vision through arduous effort, flanked by a wastepaper basket filled with crumpled drafts. But writing doesn't always have to be a struggle. This two-hour workshop explores what happens when we shift our state of mind from striving to relaxed alertness, immersing our attention in the world around us before taking to the page. We'll venture out from our writing space for a guided exploration, return for a period of focused writing, and reconvene for an optional sharing of our work. Ages 18+.
