That is why this guide is short too: three places whose menus and hours we could verify, ranked by how central seafood is to what they do and how settled their ratings are. Two sit on or just off Main Street, and one is a fried-catfish house on the west end of town.
1. Martini's Seafood House
This is the only restaurant on the list built entirely around seafood, and it has the deepest track record in town: 4.9 stars across 5,700 reviews, which is about as proven as a rating gets in a city this size. The menu runs from Cape Cod lobster bisque to a large shared seafood platter with lobster and crab listed at $165.00 and up. Happy hour is the cheaper way in, with $1 Gulf oysters, $4 beer, $8 select wines by the glass, $10 martinis and half-price starters from 5 to 6 PM Monday through Thursday. The restaurant is at 107 N Adams St, takes reservations and books live music.
2. Vaudeville
Vaudeville earns its place for one dish and one day: gumbo, listed on the bistro's lunch menu as available Saturdays only. The rating is strong and well established, 4.6 from more than 1,600 reviews, though the bistro is a broad Main Street operation rather than a seafood specialist, so plan around the Saturday listing rather than assuming it. Hours are Monday through Thursday 11am to 3pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 9pm, and Sunday 11am to 4pm, which makes Saturday the one day the gumbo and the late kitchen overlap. The address is 230 E Main St, with reservations and to-go orders both available.
3. Catfish Haven
Fried catfish is its own category in Texas, and this is where Fredericksburg does it: 816 W Main St, on the western stretch away from the shopping blocks. The rating is the lowest here, 4.1, but it rests on 835 reviews, so it reflects a long run of ordinary visits rather than a small sample. Hand-breaded onion rings and fried pickles are each listed at $6.99, and there is a chef salad with turkey, ham, egg, tomato and broccoli for anyone at the table who is not eating fish. Closed Sunday and Monday. Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday it runs 11 AM to 8 PM, Friday until 9 PM.

Two listings that surfaced under the Fredericksburg name, Otani Japanese Steak and Seafood House and Catfish Kelly's, are in Fredericksburg, Virginia, not Texas, so they are out.
