Best Sports Bars in Lynchburg
Lynchburg, Virginia — updated August 22, 2026
Three Lynchburg bars built for game day, ranked by how settled their ratings are and what they actually do well.

Lynchburg's sports bars are spread across the city rather than clustered downtown: one on Fort Avenue, one off Crowell Lane, one out on Tradewynd Drive near the retail corridor. That means picking one is partly a question of which side of town you are on, and partly a question of whether you want wings and a wall of screens or a pool table and a late kitchen. Here are three, ordered by how well they answer the question and how much evidence sits behind each rating.
1. The World Famous Stadium Inn
The strongest combination of rating and volume on this list: 4.6 across 498 reviews, which is enough feedback to call the score settled rather than provisional. The Fort Avenue bar describes itself as a sports bar and grill with a lot of TVs, cold beer and low prices, and it runs periodic dine-in wing discounts, so wings are the order if you have not been. It is also open from 10 AM, with breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, which makes it one of the few options here for an early kickoff. Hours run to 11 PM Sunday through Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday.
2. Clubhouse Sports Bar Restaurant & Grill
The most-reviewed independent of the three, at 4.5 from 807 reviews, so the score has more weight behind it than any other entry even though the average sits a tenth lower than the Stadium Inn. Off Crowell Lane, it leans into the bar side: food, beer and mixed drinks, plus 9-ball tournaments with doors at 9 AM, a 10 AM player meeting and a strict 10 AM sign-up cutoff. Note the split schedule. Monday and Tuesday it does not open until 3 PM, Wednesday it runs to midnight, and Thursday through Saturday it opens at 11:30 AM. Sunday it closes at 10 PM.
3. Scoreboards Sports Grill
Included because the name and the format fit the brief, but the numbers are the weakest here: 3.9 from 299 reviews. That is a real sample, not a thin one, which means the middling score is unlikely to move much. Out on Tradewynd Drive on the south side of town, it is the closest option if you are already near that stretch of retail. Treat it as the backup when the Fort Avenue and Crowell Lane rooms are packed for a big game rather than the first call.
What we left off
East Coast Wings + Grill on Forest Road carries a 4.3 from more than 1,000 reviews, which would otherwise place it high on this list. It is a franchise chain, and this guide covers independents only.
