The list below skips those in favor of independents, several of them sitting directly on the sand along Gulf Shore Drive or on the water at Crayton Cove. Ratings and review counts come from Google, and where the evidence is thinner than the score suggests, it says so.
1. The Turtle Club
The strongest combination of score and sample size on this list: 4.6 stars across more than 2,100 reviews, which is enough volume that the rating has stopped moving much. It sits at 9225 Gulf Shore Drive in the Vanderbilt Beach stretch, on the Gulf side rather than across the road from it. That location is the whole point for most tables here, and it means sunset seatings are the ones people compete for. Book well ahead in season, and if the beachfront tables matter to you, ask when you reserve rather than on arrival.
2. USS Nemo Restaurant
A 4.6 rating over nearly 1,300 reviews puts USS Nemo in the same tier as The Turtle Club on quality, with a smaller but still solidly settled record. The address is 3745 Tamiami Trail North, which is a strip-plaza setting rather than a waterfront one, and the room is small enough that walk-ins are a gamble at peak dinner hours. Reserve. The submarine theme is not a gimmick applied to a bland kitchen; the seafood is what has held the score steady over that many reviews.
3. BALEEN
BALEEN holds 4.5 stars across more than 1,200 reviews, a well-established record for a restaurant that trades heavily on its position at 9891 Gulf Shore Drive, at the northern end of the same beach road as The Turtle Club. Half a point below the top of this list, but the review volume means that number is dependable rather than provisional. Best used for a long lunch or an early dinner when the light off the Gulf is doing the work. Time your reservation around sunset and expect the room to fill accordingly.
4. Gumbo Limbo
At 4.5 stars from just under 1,000 reviews, Gumbo Limbo has the same score as BALEEN with a slightly smaller sample behind it, which is why it sits here. It is at 280 Vanderbilt Beach Road, close enough to the beach clubs that it draws the same crowd without requiring a walk across the sand. A reliable choice in the north-Naples cluster if the Gulf Shore Drive rooms are booked out, which they often are between January and April.
5. The Dock at Crayton Cove
The Dock has by far the most reviews on this list, close to 3,500, and a 4.4 rating that has survived all of them. That is a proven number rather than a promising one, but it is the lowest here, and the room is the most casual of the five: an open-air waterfront setting at 845 12th Avenue South, on Naples Bay at Crayton Cove. Choose it when you want the boats and the breeze more than the tablecloths. Midday and early evening are when the deck is at its best.
