Best Italian Restaurants in Scottsdale
Scottsdale, Arizona — updated August 22, 2026
Independent Italian cooking in Scottsdale, from a grocer counter on Via Linda to a weekend-only gelato window downtown, with hours, closed days and what the ratings actually prove.
Listings verified
Scottsdale's independent Italian places keep unusual schedules: the best-reviewed one is closed Sundays and Mondays, the gelato counter opens only Friday through Sunday, and the bakery shuts for the first two days of the week. This list sticks to single-location operations, ordered by how squarely each answers the question and how settled its rating looks. Check the day before you drive.
1. Andreoli Italian Grocer
The most thoroughly tested Italian kitchen on this list: 4.7 stars across 1,787 reviews, a figure large enough that the score is not going to move much. It works as both a grocer and a sit-down restaurant at 8880 E Via Linda, in a strip on the eastern side of the city, and there is a dessert menu alongside the savory side. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11am to 8pm and Friday and Saturday 11am to 9pm. It is closed Sunday and Monday, which catches out weekend visitors more than anything else here.
2. Pubblico Italian Eatery
The closest thing on the list to a conventional Italian dinner out, with homemade pasta, pizza and entrees, plus reservations. The rating is 4.5 from 392 reviews, well behind Andreoli's volume but past the point of being a fluke. Doors open at 4pm every day, closing at 9pm Sunday through Thursday and 10pm Friday and Saturday, with happy hour starting at 4pm daily. Brunch runs Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm. The menu lists short rib ravioli, shrimp scampi, sea bass, rigatoni and a Caesar. Find it at 7001 N Scottsdale Rd, suite 184.
3. BEG Bakery & Creamery and P.A.R.M. Italia
The highest score in the group, 4.9 from 850 reviews, which is a strong combination of rating and sample size. It sits third only because the operation is a bakery and creamery with the P.A.R.M. Italia menu attached rather than a full Italian dining room. The published hours are Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 7pm, Friday and Saturday 9am to 8pm, and Sunday 10am to 5pm, closed Monday and Tuesday. Note that the bakery's Instagram posts different times, so confirm before a special trip. Online ordering runs during store hours or until items sell out, and the BEG Bucks program gives a point per dollar with $5 off per 50 points. Address: 3030 N 68th St.
4. Cool Gelato Italiano
A dessert stop rather than a meal, included because it is the one place downtown doing Italian gelato and sorbet at this level: 4.8 from 248 reviews on Google, plus a 4.9 average from a much smaller pool of 69 Tripadvisor reviews. The menu has run to vegan yuzu, tart cherry sorbet and raspberry tiramisu. The catch is availability. It opens Friday and Saturday 1pm to 8:30pm and Sunday 1pm to 7pm, and is closed Monday through Thursday. It is at 7373 E Scottsdale Mall, unit 125, an easy walk after dinner in Old Town.
What we left off
North Italia at Kierland Commons was removed as a chain; its own locations page lists other Arizona restaurants under the same name. Picazzo's Healthy Italian Kitchen on Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd came off for the same reason, as a multi-location Arizona group rather than a single independent kitchen. Campo Italian Bistro & Bar on Hayden Rd is left out because the listings conflict: one directory marks it closed while another still shows daily hours. Until that is settled, we would rather not send anyone there.
