West Palm Beach's off-leash options are all tucked inside larger public parks rather than standing alone, which means the dog run is usually one stop on a longer walk past ballfields, trails or a lake. Hours run sunrise to sunset at the county sites and 7am to 7pm at the city one, and at least one park shuts midday each week for maintenance. Three fenced parks in the area have enough reviews behind them to judge, and they are ranked below by how convincing that record is.
1. Pooch Pines Dog Park
The best-rated fenced run in the group with the deepest review base: 4.6 across 290 reviews, which is a settled score rather than a promising one. It sits off Eshleman Trail in the Okeeheelee Park area on the west side, open sunrise to sunset, and closes Thursdays from noon to 3pm for maintenance, so a Thursday lunchtime drive is wasted. No food of any kind is allowed inside the fence. There is a dog beach available Friday through Sunday, 7am to 9am and again from 3pm to sunset. Be aware that the layout has three sections and reviewers have reported only two open at a time.
2. City Paws Dog Park
The closest fenced dog park to downtown, at 1302 Parker Ave in the Howard Park grounds, which makes it the practical pick if you are not driving west. It rates 4.4 from 257 reviews, a lower average than Pooch Pines but on a comparable and reasonably settled sample. The advantage is what surrounds it.
